Position:Corporate HR Manager

Location:Detroit, Michigan

Job Description: Trans Inns Management & VOS Hospitality, a hotel management company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for a large, brand new, mixed-used facility (hotel, residences, restaurant, and banquet/event facility). The position will initially be based out of our corporate office for the several months until training is complete. This position will be responsible for multiple state locations and report to the CFO, until transitioning to the property. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Processing payroll for hotels.
  • Assisting the various property managers in determining needs, qualifications and requirements in recruiting for open positions
  • Maintaining management guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and organizational policies and procedures
  • Establishing and maintaining personnel records and reports
  • Conducting training for property managers and employees on human resource topics of need and interest
  • Overseeing benefits administration and relationships with benefit providers
  • Maintaining employee benefit programs and keeping employees informed of benefits
  • Address all unemployment claims in the various states
  • Address all EEOC claims
  • Execute and maintain all FMLA requests
  • Execute and maintain all COBRA notifications
  • Monitor and oversee workers' compensation claims
  • Monitoring payroll procedures and data including the supervision of the payroll administrator position


Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid work permit
  • College degree required preferably in Human Resources
  • At least 5 years of human resources experience preferably in property management / hotel industry
  • Working knowledge of human resources policies and practices as well as benefit administration
  • Experience in ADP payroll system
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office including spreadsheets
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Exceptional detail to follow-up
  • This is a hands-on position. Individual must be knowledgeable and skilled to perform the tasks outlined in the job description with minimal supervision.
